Error Handling Patterns Every Production Automation Needs

1. Explicit error branches

Never let a failed step end silently. Route failures to a notification channel with the payload attached.

2. Idempotency keys

Use a deterministic key on every write so a retry does not create duplicate records.

3. Dead-letter storage

Write failed payloads to a sheet or table so nothing is lost while you debug.

4. Heartbeat monitoring

Schedule a daily ping. If the heartbeat stops, you learn about the outage before the client does.

Want this built for your clients — under your brand?

Our pods ship workflows like this every week, white-labelled and QA'd before handover.
